Observing Memorial Day

Today is Memorial Day; a national day for remembering those who served in our armed forces and gave the ultimate sacrifice for their country. During my 13 week stay on Parris Island, one of my Drill Instructors would cite a bible verse every night before Lights Out and it has stuck with me ever since. I think that it is fitting to repeat it today on Memorial Day…
Greater love hath no man than this, than a man lay down his life for his friends. – John 15:13
So make sure that you celebrate the freedoms that we have as Americans and at the same time give a silent thank you to all of those troops who answered the call and laid down their life for the people and things that they believed in.
As for my own small tribute…
